Invite your dark side to come out and play in this gorgeous Victorian Gothic witch costume. Decadent textures combine for a beautiful look – shining satin, rustling taffeta damask, soft tulle, and delicate ruffled lace. The jacket laces up the front with a figure-flattering keyhole shape, and tuxedo-style tails flare out from the waist. It’s the perfect look to turn heads at a gothic masquerade ball, or wherever you should choose to wear it.
This dress is made-to-measure to fit you perfectly, and is available in 9 beautiful colors, as seen in the picture above. There are two versions available. When I first dreamed up this dress, I sketched the idea with a full length handmade skirt, short in front, and long and flowy in back. To tie the look together, I also sketched long pointy sleeves:
The sketched version is trimmed in Venise Lace, which leads to a much more elegant high-fashion look. It also comes with a corset in black velvet instead of black satin, which coordinates better since there is no satin trimmed petticoat. If you like the version in my sketch better, choose “From Sketch”. If you want the version in the photos, choose “From Photos”.
Please take your measurements (instructions here). Choose the size that the majority of your measurements fit within.
Also please provide your measurements to me when you check out, so I can tweak my patterns as needed to fit you perfectly.
The price in this listing is discounted (10% off each handmade item), as it’s a bit faster to make something I’ve made before, and requires less time spent communicating what I’m making for you. After choosing a “Version”, you’ll see two prices. The price that’s crossed out is what you should expect for a custom witch costume based on this design, with different fabrics and/or trims, and/or alterations to the style of sleeves, skirt, etc.
If you like, I can make a hat to match this dress for you. It’s a showstopping full-size witch hat – made in damask to match your costume with a large flower and feather adornment. Exact feathers used will vary!
Are there alternate fabrics available for this dress?
For alternate fabrics to coordinate with the rest of the design, I recommend Swirl Velveteen Taffeta, or Zebra/Tiger Velveteen Taffeta for this look. It would also look very nice made from Floral and Stripe Jacquard Satin fabric – the combination of fabrics used to make my belladonna skirt. Photos of each fabric coming soon!
Can I order just the jacket?
I’m afraid that made-to-order jackets are only available with purchase of full costume.
