Mesmerize unwary onlookers in this gorgeous Gothic Victorian ballgown. Decadent textures combine for a beautiful look – two tone taffeta damask with velveteen patterns, black leather, and pleated satin trim. In front, it’s a mini skirt, but in back, it’s a full length bustle design. The bodice is a faux leather steel boned corset, perfect for hugging your every curve, and the bustled jacket clasps over the top with an ornate metal and leather belt. It’s the perfect costume to turn heads at a Steampunk event, or a Gothic Masquerade ball, or wherever you should choose to wear it.
About This Design
This dress is made-to-measure to fit you perfectly, and is available in 9 beautiful colors, as seen in the picture above. There are also options above for “Skirt Style”. The photo below shows each skirt style – with a different but similar overskirt in black satin fabric. “Basic” is a three piece set of Jacket, Corset, and Bustle Skirt – the pieces shown on my dress form in the photos above. “Lacy” adds a see-through lace underskirt, to bring the look to a peekaboo full-length. “Bustleicious” adds a bustle petticoat, to poof the skirt (and jacket) out in back. The back drape on the jacket is designed to have a slight (2-3″) train. It’s about the right length to look super-elegant, but not get stepped on by accident. For an additional $20, I can create this dress with an 8-12″ train and hitching ribbons sewn to the inside to bring it up to calf length.

Frequently asked questions
Are there alternate fabrics available for this dress?
For alternate fabrics to coordinate with black leather corset, belt, and trim, I recommend Ribbon Embroidery Taffeta, Swirl Velveteen Taffeta, or Zebra/Tiger Velveteen Taffeta for this look. Photos of each fabric coming soon!
Can you make this item with a different color trim (IE, without black)?
Yes I can – for some colors. The main limitation on this design is that the belt must match both trim and corset for the best look.
With alterations to the exact style of the belt, and corsets from fabrics other than leather, this design can be made with ivory trim, tan trim, red trim, or dark brown trim. Depending on how closely the colors match, we may want to do doubled trim (pleated ribbon over contrasting lace) for the best look, as seen in this similar gown design.
I already have a corset. Can I order just the jacket and skirt?
Unless you own one of my exclusive hourglass corsets, the jacket most likely won’t fit over the top. Both my corset and jacket pattern are unique (I draft all my own patterns) and thus, my jackets do not fit properly over corsets from other shops. They also do not fit natural form (uncorseted).
