About This Item

Here’s the perfect hat base for you to decorate to complete a Steampunk or Victorian-inspired gown or costume! It’s made of stiffened wool felt.   The hat itself comes in 12 colors, so it can be made to match absolutely any gown. It’s a 3/4 size hat, intended to be worn tilted over the face with a curly updo of some kind. If you’re doing historical reenactment, this style works perfect for 1870’s and 1880’s historical ensembles. The bustle dress portion of the Victorian era, that is!

You won’t find this hat elsewhere! I shape it myself by hand.  It’s made from 100% real wool, and attaches to the head with an elastic strap.

Links to alternative styles are coming soon!  I can’t make a hat with a fabric band unless you’re also ordering a gown from the same fabric, but I have many styles that use ribbon in place of the fabric to decorate the hat.  I have a large order of the bases on the way, and I intend to make samples of many of the styles I’ll be offering for sale for photo taking purposes.  Stay tuned. 🙂
