Showcase your bold, daring side in this gorgeous baroque-inspired fantasy gown. It’s made of shimmering satin and elegant taffeta damask. The skirt is full and flowy, with draping folds across the front, and a french bustled back. It’s a dress jacket design – supremely tailored to flatter your curves. The sleeves are 3/4 length with a bell shaped hem, and the jacket’s back brings to mind tuxedo tails. You’ll be one-of-a-kind in this stunning ball gown.
This is a 4 piece set which includes the following items:
Dame en Rouge means “Lady in Red” in French. I designed this thinking of a bold fantasy version of Marie Antoinette – thus the name! It’s been worn exactly once to a photoshoot, and will arrive to you washed and starched for freshness.
Please take your measurements before purchasing to be sure this will fit. When you check out, add your measurements in the spot provided (you’ll see it in the page that loads after clicking the “proceed to checkout” button). I’ll use them to be sure I’m sending you the correct corset size.
Size | Bust | Waist | High Hips | Low Hips |
Small | 33-36″ | 26-29″ | 34-36″ | 36-39″ |
Because of the jacket, I recommend this for short-waisted figures. You’ll have less of the black corset peeking at the bottom of the jacket’s waist that way.
The skirt in this set is about 40″ in length. Hoop skirts CANNOT be too long in the front – otherwise they become a guaranteed tripping hazard. Therefore if you plan to wear this flat-footed, you must be 5’5″ or more, or if you plan to wear this with heels, add your heel height to that measurement.
I can also customize this to fit shorter heights. If you would like me to alter the skirt’s hem for you, please choose one of the “Altered” options below.
Can you make this item in my size and/or in a different color?
Yes I can. A custom made dress will look slightly different (and better!) This dress is a prototype, made to test new patterns for both jacket and skirt. In the final version, the skirt’s hem falls more evenly around, and the hip appliques are placed closer together in front for a more flattering look. The jacket’s bodice is a couple inches lower at the waist, so the corset does not peek. Also, the sleeves have a prettier flare, and the jacket’s back is more angled with longer points. I already have a corset. Can I order just the jacket and skirt?
Unless you own one of my exclusive hourglass corsets, the jacket most likely won’t fit over the top. Both my corset and jacket pattern are unique (I draft all my own patterns) and thus, my jackets do not fit properly over corsets from other shops. They also do not fit natural form (uncorseted).
