This velvet skirt combines dark elegance with movement, mystery, and a flash of leg at every turn. In front, twin lace-lined slits go all the way up to your hips, and in back, liquid black velvet fabric hugs your form before flaring out into a sweeping lace hem. Sizing Info
Velvet is such a deliciously decadent fabric. This skirt is made from a thick and soft stretch velvet that happens to be a perfect match for my black velvet hourglass corset, as seen in the photos.
All seams are professionally serged for durability, and the waistband has 1″ wide elastic. The trim is a top quality US-made lace.
This will soon be part of a collection! I plan to create a matching “Velvet Mystique” shrug in a very Morticia Adams-esque style – a velvet version of my popular bell sleeve shrug. Since stretch velvet isn’t as stretchy as stretch lace, I need to do a few tweaks to my pattern to ensure the velvet version fits perfectly. Once that is available, I will add a link here. ^.^

Velvet fabric has a nap that runs in a specific direction – so anything made from velvet must have all pieces cut oriented the same way. In order not to waste a ton of fabric with the large flared pieces, I always make these skirts two-at-at-time, so I can cut the second in the opposite direction as the first. Most of the time I’m able to make and ship this skirt in 4-6 weeks. Occasionally it can take 6-8 weeks if I have a large number of previous orders on the books.
